Tuesday Tutorial – Star Wars Favor Bags
For this month’s Whisker Graphics Design Team project, we journey to a galaxy far, far away! ย The boys’ Christmas party is the weekend before the opening ofย Star Wars: The Force Awakens,ย so of course, it is this year’s theme!
I found these fun cupcake ring toppers on one of my recent party trips and realized that they are a perfect match for to my gold metallic, black and gray Chevron Middy Bitty Bags. So naturally, I turned them into bag toppers for favor bags.
These are perfect for Star Wars parties for any occasion, or just a little fun for the super fan in your life.
What You’ll Need:
Star Wars plastic cupcake rings (I found mine in a local party store; find the same ones hereย on Amazon)
gold metallic, black and grayย Chevron Middy Bitty Bags
gold chevron, silver stars and solid white paper straws (mine are from Sweets & Treats)
wire cutter
hot glue gun
standard hole punch
- Carefully remove as much as you can of the ring shank with the wire cutter.
- Hot glue the rings to coordinating paper straws.
- Fill your bags with treats.
- Fold the tops of your Bitty Bags over and punch holes into them.
- Thread the straws through the Bitty Bags.
So simple and easy, right? ย I love that they are subtle, keeping to the Star Wars theme without screaming it. ย You know I’m not a fan of the plastic treat bags…if you use them, more power to you! But with just a extra step or two, you can take your party out of the box and make it super special.
