Pottery Barn Kids Star Wars Event 2008
So, it came and went yesterday, the moment that took an hour standing in line for, 5 minutes for pictures and choosing ONE character to sign their book. That’s it, nothing else (I was expecting more, but that was just mommy guilt). But the kids looked so cute! Our friend was Boba Fett and had an inflatable jet pack on, while mine were Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi. But since it was the University Village (and of course a stop at Trophy Cupcakes) and neither of our friends had been, it was more than worth it for them.
We were one of a few who were actually in costume, and little girls kept wanting to take pix with our Princess Leia, which was a hoot. Some random guy also took their pictures, so we were wondering if there would be a website with creative airbrushing going on. The ladies at the event took lots of pictures too, so maybe we’ll be somewhere and become famous and not even know it.
Once again, I had to resist the urge to buy the Star Wars bedding, thankfully my girlfriend seconded that the price was outrageous, and I didn’t have to feel mommy guilt again. I agreed, those sheets would take the boys through college and my grandkids would be sleeping on them.
We strolled through the Village with lots of stares and admirers and the kids just ate it up. No one wanted to change their clothes. A little lightsaber duel for the masses, then to another favorite spot, Johnny Rockets for lunch. They should make that place bigger! It’s the only really kid-friendly eating place, and there are like 8 booths, and always crowded. Totally worth it though. It was a good day.
