Dudes & Brews – Father’s Day Beer Tasting Party

Father’s Day is right around the corner and when I started brainstorming ideas that weren’t superman, ties or golf, I just asked my husband what he would want to do. His response, drink beer and hang out. So, I figured I could class that idea up as a beer tasting party. With some help from my friends at Oriental Trading, here are some ideas that are perfect for hosting your own Dudes & Brews.
Invite some dads over for a laid-back afternoon of beer, easy snack foods and fun. And what goes more perfect with beer than pretzels!
I am loving how hot using pegboards for party decor is…doughnut wall uses are dominating but I was inspired by this geometric table runner to create our own pretzel centerpiece creation. I cut down a pegboard down to a 1′ X 4′ section, painted it black and used 1/4″ dowels to skewer pretzel stress toys.
- These placemats make it easy to create and sample a flight of beer. Don’t forget to have a variety of beers from lagers to ales and stouts for sampling….and plenty more for enjoyment.
- Check with your local bakery or grocer’s bakery for soft pretzels to serve with a variety of dips like cheese and flavored sour cream.
- Use paper tubs to serve popcorn, peanuts and other snacks.
- Balance out your salty with sweet; I couldn’t resist topping our chocolate cupcakes with popcorn and drizzling with chocolate syrup.
The perfect gift? A caddy full of beer…
