Tuesday Tutorial – Middy Bitty Bag Placecards

When I came across this glamorous black and gold Betsy Johnson inspired shoot on Fab You Bliss, I immediately fell in love with every element. ย I also thought to myself, ‘Self, we can recreate the place cards with my Whisker Graphics metallic gold chevron Middy Bitty Bags’. ย And forย this month’s Design Team submission, I did just that.

What you’ll need:

2ย metallic gold chevron Middy Bitty Bags
black cardstock
white or chalk pen
adhesive

  • You need your Middy Bitty Bags to be square (they measure at 5″ x 7.5″) so trim the tops down to leave a 5″ square.
  • With 1″ wide fold lines, accordion fold each bag, then fold the bags in half and adhere to each other to create one large fan.
  • Trim a 3″ by 6″ strip of black cardstock, write the guest’s name in white or chalk pen, then adhere the paper fan to the bottom. ย This allows the namecard to stand upright.

Have I mentioned my obsession with my new gold chalk ink pen from Paper Source? With a chiseled tip, I feel like I can write calligraphy…but not really. ย It can write on chalkboard, glass, metal and plastic, so you know someone will be embellishing her whiteware very soon…

If you are looking to bring a little sparkle to your Christmas or New Yearโ€™s Eve party table, this is a fabulous and easy way to do it. You could even make smaller place cards with the chevron Little Bitty Bags to label the items on your food buffet or cocktail bar.

Cheers!
