Create a Simple 4th Of July Party Bar
This is a sponsored post; payment, trade and/or products have been received in exchange for promotion for Geese & Ganders. As always, all opinions are my own.
Can you believe the 4th of July is right around the corner? When Geese & Ganders invited me to have patriotic fun with some of their partyware, I was more than game! I love their shop because they don’t believe in ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ aisles when it comes to party fun. Remember I used some of their cute products for my Star Wars Day party table? This time, red, white and blue inspiration is the name of the game; let’s talk about creating a simple party bar.
It doesn’t always have to be about stars and stripes…the colors are enough to give you a patriotic feel but also works all summer long.
- Fishing line and baker’s twine are essential parts of my decorating stash. 10 lb weight fishing line is practically invisible and can hold a variety of party items, like our silver stars, with ease.
- Baker’s twine is perfect for any type of garland creations. We used it to help create a ridiculously easy backdrop by draping small paint-splatter and large dotted paper napkins, secured with double sided tape.

- Use striped wrapping paper to dress up your bar or tabletop and set the scene.
- Putting out fun snacks like cookies (hello Firework Oreos!), candy and popcorn are great for guests to enjoy while the grill is getting ready. Added bonus, they hold up well outdoors and are easily replenished.
- Looking for great vessels like apothecary jars and cake stands? Head to your favorite home furnishings store; Home Goods and World Market are always my go-to. They will always have a seasonal/4th of July section where you can find hued vessels.
- You all know I love a soda bar…there are so many fun options out there. Don’t forget fun straws and cups.
- Let’s finish our set up with another equally easy garland! All you will need is a package of 25 baking cups and battery-operated LED mini string lights. Mine is a 25-light, 9 foot length from Target’s garden section.
- With a craft knife, cut an X in the bottom of a baking cup and carefully push through a bulb. Repeat until all bulbs are covered.
- The magic happens after dinner, when the sun sets…
I must admit, the baking cup garland is my favorite part…the lights are perfect for a 4th of July evening. Changing your theme? Just swap out your baking cups for coordinating ones. This is an affordable way to have custom lighting without having to buy themed ones.
