Can you believe Thanksgiving is done and we are officially into Christmas season? Yes, Christmas stuff has been up since August but it doesn’t ‘begin’ for me until our tree goes up this weekend.

Hostess wants to become part of your holiday traditions and I think I may have the perfect way to help.  We have been Hostess fans for years and of course, when they shut down a few years ago, I am not ashamed to say I horded a few things.  Now they are back and better than ever.

I’m sharing some fun ways to play with their classic treats with my Holiday With Hostess Snacks table.  This is the perfect spread for after Christmas dinner, a special holiday playdate or a new family tradition of having a little fun with sweets. Waistlines be damned, resolutions are for New Year’s.

The boys and I headed to Wal-Mart to pick up a few supplies…they love it when we go party shopping because they start scheming on what they get to eat once my camera turns off.  Our weapons of choice, Twinkies, Ho Hos, Ding Dongs, Sno Balls and Donettes.  I also picked up these adorable penguin and North Pole cupcake decorating kits from Wilton.

Holiday With Hostess Snacks placesetting #HostessHoliday

  • This tablesetting is easy to recreate…don’t be afraid to mix and match your ceramic ware with paperware, especially with a kid’s table.  They like to feel like little grown-ups.
  • I love using wrapping paper as a table cover…I layered the red glitter wrap, also a Wal-Mart find, with striped paper.
  • Little treats at a placesetting are always special; a simple bag of candy tied with ribbon will do the trick.

  • The boys had fun helping me make a few of our Hostess treats.  Talk about easy treat decorating. This great candy cane topper kit reminded me of a similar version I made a couple of years ago for my Mrs. Claus and Santa’s Mustache Bash with Sno Balls, no reinventing the wheel here.
  • This kit makes it even easier, all we did was stick in the wrapped candy cane stick into a Sno Ball and add the sticker label.

Holiday With Hostess Snacks North Pole Or Bust Twinkie Cars #HostessHoliday
  • North Pole or bust!  I wrapped a platter in chalkboard paper and added washi tape lines for the road our Twinkie Cars are on.  Black butcher paper or cardstock would work just as well and draw on the lines with chalk or a white pen.
  • We attached the Donette wheels with toothpicks, so be sure and remind guests to remove them before consuming.

Holiday With Hostess Snacks table Ding Dong penguins #HostessHoliday
  • I love how our Ding Dongs turned out.  I had some fun using the penguin decorating kit to turn them into the bird of the moment.  I used little dabs of frosting to attach all the candy pieces so this may be a little tricky for younger kids.

Holiday With Hostess Snacks table Ho Hos #HostessHoliday

  • Our Ho Hos just needed a few little flags…they are perfect all on their own.  I found these great paper straw chalkboard flags at Hobby Lobby and used them on skewers.
I hope you have been inspired to have your own holiday fun with Hostess snacks. No bake fun is always up my party alley!
