Tuesday Tip/Tutorial – Rainbow Crafts/Pot O’Giveaways/Free Downloads

Hang onto your cup of coffee, today’s post is bursting at the seams. I’ve been a little busy; I love surfing the Web and finding fun projects to do. Somehow finding more stuff to do breaks up the monotony of planning two parties that I have coming down the pike. I’ve been making tissue poms, painting, doing invitations, etc. and need a break from the grunt work. First up, we are having a ‘Kiss Me I’m Irish’ playdate this Friday, I needed a few quick (cheap) ideas.
Quick idea #1 – pom-poms. Remember my post on DIY party elements? Well, I dug out the yarn and had to make some. They were so much fun, so I thought some rainbow ones would be even prettier! So I got me some pretty rainbow yarn and now I can’t stop making them. I need to step away from the skein.Quick idea #2 – colored pasta. You would think after all the years of crafting I have under my belt, I would have done this. And yet, no. I just followed 5 Orange Potatoes’ super-easy-awesome tutorial.

Three tips: One, make sure the alcohol covers your pasta when they are soaking. Two, start this during the day so every hour or so you give the bag a shake. It make the colors saturate better and you have more uniformly colored pasta. Three, the colors will deepen as the pasta dries, mine looked a little washed out, but the next day they were so pretty and vibrant.
