I love my Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker. If you remember, I have two, one for home and one for entertaining…aka The Pretty One. During the winter, mine work especially hard cooking whole chicken and game hens, stews, pot roast, chili and my favorite, pulled pork.
With Super Bowl XLVIII on it’s way, I’m going to share a few recipes to throw into your Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker that are guaranteed to feed and please a crowd. First up, my pulled pork recipe. It needs two things. Pulled pork and BBQ sauce. But not just any pork and sauce.
If you have the pleasure of living near a Costco, it must be Kirkland Signature Smoked Pulled Pork with Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce. I use an astounding amount of sauce, and cook everything on low for about 2 hours. It is heaven in a pot. I have served it for every occasion you can imagine. Perfect on slider buns, Hawaiian sweet rolls, hamburger buns, dinner rolls…
In fact, for our Christmas party, we had pulled pork and Costco macaroni patties…everything was gone in a flash.
Speaking of macaroni, check back at one of my favorite mac & cheese recipes that is another crowd favorite….oh it is cheesy goodness. There is nothing healthy about it, so if lots of cheese and cream offends you…you may not want to check out the recipe.
Hot wings and drumsticks are a must at any Super Bowl party. Better Homes & Gardens has a great slow cooker recipe for Buffalo Chicken Drumsticks with Blue Cheese.
Now that I’ve given you a few ideas, I’m thrilled to share that 2 of my readers will each receive the newest member of the Crock-Pot® Slow Cooker family, the Crock-Pot® Programmable Slow Cookers with iStir™ Stirring System!
iStir™ does the stirring for you so you don’t have to. With the slow cooker’s countdown digital timer and automatic stirring, you are provided the convenience of preparing food with perfect results, even if you are not in the kitchen.
Simply prepare ingredients, set cook time and attach the motor housing with proper paddle in place. Choose the general purpose paddle for soup and chili or the stew paddle for thick stew and more dense dishes. After an initial 2-hour delay, the stirring self-activates every 30 minutes to ensure thorough mixing and even heating until turned off.
Other fabulous features:
- 6-quart capacity serves 6-8+ people
- iStirTM Automatic stirring system with two removable stirring paddles: general purpose paddle and stew paddle
- Removable Classic Lid Handle for stirless cooking
- Programmable control panel with digital countdown timer allows you to set cooking time anywhere between 30 minutes to 20 hours; automatically shifts to WARM when cooking is complete
- Polished, silver stainless steel exterior with black accents and plastic handles

I have one, but I'm just now getting into it. I'm kind of terrible at crock pot cooking. I didn't know that was possible, haha. But now that I'm trying to join the military, I'd like to get it down on the chance I have to leave and need easy meals for my hubs & kiddo to eat! :):
I love my crock pot and I do lots of beans in it as well as apple butter.
I love Costco's pulled pork. Never saw it recommended on a blog. Thanks for your honesty in using a store bought.
I'm also taking one of your fruit kabobs as you read this.
