Throw A Roses and Rosé Soiree
My plan for Galentine’s Day this year was to host a Roses and Rosé Soiree. I invited our guests to bring their favorite bottle of rosé to share and we would nibble on sweets and craft and talk about life. Then Seattle’s Snowmageddon 2019 happened and I had to postpone until April. But we were finally able to get together and we had a marvelous time, nibbling on sweets, crafting and talking about life.
It’s always fun to hang with my ladies; getting our schedules to mesh is like trying to coordinate a space launch. I’m honored when it works…
- Costco has da best deal on roses, $17.99 for 2 dozen! So easy and affordable to set the scene.
- While out, stop at Trader Joe’s (or your favorite grocer) and stock up on on fresh fruit, cheese, and crackers.
- Create a dessert tray with a variety of cookies, chocolate covered everything, marshmallows and brownies.
- Think outside the box for decor; I used a faux fur rug as a fuzzy table covering. The texture is a perfect layering aspect to our table.
- What is a Roses and Rosé Soiree without rosé? Each guest brought a full bottle to share, so I made sure to have ice buckets on hand.
- I shared a few mini bottles of my favorites….check out my post for tips on a few great finds.
- Of course you need the Yes Way, Rosé stemless glasses from Cost Plus.
You know I love a fun and themed, but practical take-home. I discovered a great post to DIY potpourri sachets and it was perfect. I did purchase dried rose petals instead of drying the flowers myself.
Speaking of take-homes, there is always a craft when you party at Dawn’s…and in the spirit of welcoming spring and cherry blossoms, we made cherry pom-pom key chains!
As a result of this super-easy tutorial, I learned about pom-pom makers, which I promptly found at my local craft store so that I could pay the fun forward. FYI, find a YouTube video on how to use one, the directions on the packaging are so vague.
Don’t let summer pass you by without putting together a rosé soiree of your own!
