I am a mother of boys. ย Cute and adorable are no longer part of my vocabulary now that they are 10 and 13. ย Sweet and awesome are my benchmarks of success. ย So when putting together this year’s Easter egg hunt, I kept that in mind. Since we are in the throes of a Disney Marvel obsession (May 1 cannot come soon enough for The Avengers 2), a Marvel Easter Egg Hunt was in order.
- We lucked out with glorious Seattle weather to set up in our front yard. ย I have been dying for the chance to create a tissue fan/pom garland with my stash…it is pretty heavy and I was sweating a little that it would come down mid-party. ย I don’t know what their weight capacity is, but Pinhooks rock!
- From stickers and tattoos to glow sticks, water squirters and candy, we had a little bit of everything to choose from. ย Our prizes varied in price from one Marvel Money to five Marvel Money…have to keep it interesting, of course. ย Plus, it was a great lesson in budgeting…you can’t have everything kids.
- We found The Avengers Cheez-Its were perfect to add to our snack mix and for added fun, I wrapped drink cans in embellished cardstock. I just punched out a circle and star for Captain America and drew on the spider web for, of course, Spider-Man.
Let the games begin!
To keep things fair, hide an equal number of eggs and instruct the kids to only find a pre-determined amount….with 4 kids, we hid 40 eggs and 2 golden eggs. ย The golden eggs didn’t count towards their total, but they could only have one golden egg.
And what did the golden egg win you? Giant chocolate Spider-Man candy, of course!
…and got to shopping. ย I absolutely loved this idea because they were able to get exactly what they wanted and it wasn’t just a bunch of candy, which I know the moms appreciated.
Of course, water squirters meant a water battle must ensue…
It was a fabulous morning with friends…so today’s Marvel Easter Egg Hunt? ย Sweet and awesome.
What are your family’s Easter traditions! Share them, we would love to hear them…perhaps someone will incorporate them into their own tradition.

We do themed baskets for each of the kids every year, and we used to go to my aunt's house for a huge, annual Easter egg hunt, but we no longer do that because we moved! *sob* That was always the highlight of my Easter. ๐ I LOVE your pom banner, it's gorgeous! #client
Yay! Thanks so much! I know, those kids grow up fast and these types of memories are the best!
How fun! I love what you did with the drinks. Thank you for linking up to Party Time and we hope to see you again next week!
