Rainbow Party Table

St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and whether you are putting together a full blown Irish throw-down or just a family night in, focus your decorating energy on a focal point…like a rainbow party table!  It is perfect for a unicorn party too…they are so hot right now!A fun rainbow party table for St. Patrick's Day

  • I have amassed quite a few honeycomb decor items from a variety of retailers from Target to Oriental Trading to Shop Sweet Lulu!  They are my favorite way to party because they are affordable, reusable and fold flat for easy storage.
  • Mixing in a few fun balloons, small paper fans and garlands will help create a great focal point and conversation starter.
  • Add to your decor shopping list, disco balls!! They are easily dressed up or down for any occasion.  During the Christmas season, Hobby Lobby carries all types of sizes and colors as Christmas ornaments.  I grabbed the last gold ones they had…you have to hit that place up as soon as they put their holidaywares out.
  • As always, gift wrap is my go-to back drop, and balloon letters, my current obsession.

  • I scored on the rainbow tubs at Dollar Tree a few years ago, but I am sure you can find them there or a great substitute. Their paper tub game has been stepping up!  I love them for serving popcorn.
  • My very favorite cloud tray is from the Oh Joy! collection at Target…it is a limited collection so if you come across it online or in store, snatch it up!  While you are at Target, pick up a few of their mini party hats.

  • I can’t bake a cake, but I know how to trick out a store-bought one!  I like to head to the bakery section and check out the higher-end cakes that already have fun details I love like chocolate shavings.  Top off with colorful sprinkles and everyone will think you made it yourself.
  • You can do the same thing with cupcakes or doughnuts! I love to melt cake frosting and pour over a cake stand stacked with cake doughnuts.  Before the frosting cools, sprinkle with a generous helping of jimmies or nonpareils.

I hope you have been inspired for a colorful St. Patrick’s Day! Need more rainbow inspiration? How about putting together a rainbow drink bar or craft a simple rainbow tray or just check out my rainbow tag.

  1. So much fun!! I love to decorate tables and party plan. I actually took a swing at cake decorating and it was so fun. I am making unicorn macarons today with rainbow-ish theme! Mostly pink, purple, and blue, but my little wants to paint gold on them so maybe I will switch to green, gold, and pink! Thanks for the inspo!
