An Outdoor Easter Table

Today is the first day of spring!ย  The weather is getting nicer and it is almost time to take your entertaining outside.ย  With a few easy details, an outdoor Easter table is easy to put together.

Great tips on putting together an outdoor Easter Table

This is perfect for a lovely afternoon out with your ladies…there is someย rosรฉ involved!ย  I am fortunate to have a wonderful, weathered table in our backyard but you can be just as creative on your porch table.ย  The key is to keep your decor to a minimum with impactful pieces and lots of layering.

I love using real flowers when entertaining, but with seasonal blooms, it can be hard to find what you like. I don’t know why faux blooms get so much hate.ย  Purchase more realistic ones and you can repurpose them to decorate your home.

I’m not a big fan of purchasing holiday themed items like Santa platters or glasses emblazoned with bunnies; you can’t use them all year round.ย  Rather, focus on layering neutral pieces with a few accents like ceramic bunnies; they least carry you through spring.

I love using theseย rattan chargersย when it comes to placesettings.ย  They are my favorite to use, work with almost every type of party, and add a rustic element and visual texture.ย  Unfortunately, the flower/leaf napkin set came from a housewares stores, but you can find the paper dinner plates here.

Set out easy nibbles for guests to enjoy before the main event.ย  Bunny shaped crackers, popcorn, and crudites are springtime entertaining perfect.

Small cans of rosรฉย ย and glasses of carrot juice with DIY drink stirrers are pretty thirst quenchers.ย  To turn a straw into a drink stirrer, I created the ‘carrot top’ using fringe scissors on a piece of green felt, then hot glued around the top of straw.

Dress up carrot cake with a simple piping job on top.ย  Bonus; if you are using a store bought cake that doesn’t have any decorations, ask the bakery department to do it for you.ย  Edible flowers would also make a fabulous topper.

Our mini palmier cookies look like bunny ears poking out of grass.ย  These are an easy treat to make with store bought cookies.

  1. Into a bowl, cut edible Easter grass (find in the Easter candy section at grocer or big box stores) into small pieces.
  2. Cover a large cutting board or your counter with a piece of wax paper large enough to fit your cookies on for cooling.
  3. In a wide, microwavable bowl, tint store bought or homemade frosting to match your Easter grass.
  4. ย Microwave the frosting on high until smooth and pourable (about 15 seconds or so, depending on the amount of frosting you are needing)
  5. Dip the bottom of the cookies into the frosting, up to the point where the ‘ears’ meet.
  6. Immediately dip into the grass pieces to coat.ย  Lay the cookie onto the wax paper, and carefully press down on the dipped area so that all the frosted section is covered with the grass pieces.
  7. Let the frosting set and cool.

Who says Easter baskets are just for kids?ย  If you follow me on Instagram, you know I created a mini series sharing grownup basket ideas.ย  At each placesetting, I filled a berry basket with fun goodies any lady would appreciate.ย  Layered with flower plates and so-cute leaf napkins, they are the extra step to making your guests feel special.
