5 Steps To A Fabulous Oscars Viewing Party
The 89th Academy Awards ceremony is next Sunday! In Hollywood, the place to be is at one of the several hottest after-Oscars party. Rival those with my 5 steps to your own fabulous Oscars Viewing Party!
Dress To Impress
Invite guests to dress red carpet worthy or as one of the stars of his or her favorite Oscar nominated movie, both past and current. Create a fun photo-booth area with props like costume jewelry and flirty feather boas so they can strike a pose, cocktail in hand.
Set The Scene
A little glitz and glamour are all you need to set the scene! If you are pressed for time/budget, focus on one area like the food table or focus all your attention on one aspect like using lots of balloons. There are so many great craft ideas and free printables to use to help with your decor, from DIY Oscar statue paper cut outs to favor boxes. I love Monica Wants It’s easy to recreate table and she’s even offering free downloads to use.
Provide An Awards Worthy Feast
Put together easy snacks like popcorn and champagne like I did for our Oscars viewing party…but you can also step up your game with party foods inspired by must-see nominees. Delish’s roundup of ideas includes Just A Taste’s (The Lobster) Rolls, Galaxy Ice Cream for the unsung heroes of the space program in Hidden Figures and chicken and waffle sliders inspired by the jazz-fueled dreams of La La Land.
Raising The (Champagne) Bar
Create a drink station; purchase sparkling wine in bulk, or ask your guests to bring a bottle of bubbly. Serve a variety of chopped fruit, syrups, garnishes, liqueurs, and other champagne cocktail essentials, and you’ve got refreshments covered. All Bets Are On
Everyone has opinions about acting performances and best picture nominees. Print out Sugar and Charm’s Oscars ballot so guests can predict the winners in the more widely-known categories. Create prizes like a mini swag bag filled with goodies like a Netflix or movie theater gift card, mini champagne bottles and bags of gourmet popcorn and gold-foil wrapped candy.
