Fiesta Friday – Strawberry Shortcake, Cream On Top
…tell me the name of your sweetheart, is it A? B? C?…remember that jump roping song? I love strawberries, and I’m sooooo glad they are back in season (meaning they are $1.50/lb versus $4.99/lb). They are today’s inspiration, a round-up of some too-cute parties filled with lots of beautiful touches and brings back a bit of nostalgia. But don’t let the cuteness fool you, this is a perfect summertime theme for grown-ups too!
Get the party started right, Fine Stationery‘s plaid invite, and I love this die-cut invite from Mondocherry.
Red, pink and lime green is your color scheme, but remember it doesn’t have to be just about strawberries. Isn’t this ribbon-covered vase a perfect centerpiece? How about a cluster of red and pink roses and green hydrangeas. OK, OK, back to the strawberries, how about using them as vase filler? Of course you can use the whole plant in a pretty blume box.
Sweetly Sweet is fast becoming one of my sites for all things cute! She has a lovely themed party pack that she is graciously sharing as a free download.
Oh, Pretty Party Studio, how I wish I had girls. I heart her collection, and the gingham box favors are genius.
Oh, the pretty just keeps coming; check out Bird Crafts’ Sweet Strawberry printable party collection.
Little Pumpkin Grace’s party is pretty, pretty, pretty, from the pretty pom-pom topped hats to the pretty lunch pails. Pretty.
You know my love of functional party favors; for one of her Kara’s niece’s parties, guests made strawberry jam! At another niece’s party, they colored the inserts of pots and planted their own strawberry plants.
How about going red, pink and aqua? Cakewalk’s party is perfect, and check out those poms on the wall…hmm…I think this will be the latest twist in pom decorating.
Need more favor ideas? Send guests home with Crate & Barrel’s Heirloom Strawberries In A Bag or check out Creative Paper Cuts’ strawberry shaped boxes, perfect to hold small candies. Or just stick with the classics. Fill plastic strawberry baskets or Garnish’s wood berry boxes with ripe berries or other treats and tie on a wide gingham ribbon for a basket handle.
And speaking of Kara’s Party Ideas, I have to send a HUGE thank-you shout out to her for featuring my airplane party on her site…that place is the perfect to find just about any party you need for inspiring your own. Go get lost there!
***UPDATE***
OK, so I came across more strawberry fabulousness and just had to add them in. My baking hero Bake At 350 did an amazing post on these beautiful cookies, and I didn’t even know Bake It Pretty had the berry baskets.
A beautiful rehersal dinner from Utterly Engaged was inspired by the groom’s love of cooking and his aunt’s Strawberry Shortcake.

Love it all! Heading to the farmer's market to get STRAWBERRIES ๐
Oh goodness! So many cute ideas here. I love the bright colors, too!
