Fiesta Friday – Skylanders Party Ideas
If your kids enjoy playing video games, they probably love Skylanders. My 10 year old is a little obsessed himself.  With the newest release, Skylanders Trap Team, not only will it be hot on the party and Christmas gift circuit, you know it’s super hot when it becomes a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade float!
Here are some ideas on how to throw a stress-free Skylanders birthday party when you use the Skylanders party theme from Birthday Express.
Party Decor
Blue and green complement the Skylanders theme. You can choose to decorate with solid streamers, balloons, napkins, plates, and other paper goods. Or, make it easy on yourself with the Skylanders Party In a Box, which includes everything you need to create the perfect party and take almost no planning at all!
You know I love my paper straws! Display colorful paper straws  in a plastic Skylanders cup for a fun way to dress up the table. Head to your favorite craft store for grass placemats and use them at every place setting, or use just a couple to add texture to the snack table.
I adore this tabletop from Mouse Ears Mom; kids love seeing their name on stuff…
Just A Frugal Mom got super creative and turned lanterns into characters! Â What a great way to repurpose party items.
The Munchies
Get the kiddos involved in the party fun and let them decorate cupcakes! Each kid can top their cupcake with candy, sprinkles and rings for cupcake toppers, which make a great party favor. If you have fondant skills, create cupcake toppers with My Baking Addiction’s easy how-to video.
For a fun snack during the party, make lime “electric” JELL-O Jigglers or these adorable cloud parfaits from the Hostess Blog. Â Offer the kids blue Gatorade with bright green ice cubes!
Send Them Home With A Smile
I’m not a fan of pre-purchased party kits, unless they have stuff I would actually put together myself. And surprisingly, the Skylanders party favor box does; stickers, Splat Rock, Pop Rocks Candy, a glow stick and Wizard Putty. And how can you go wrong with a gable box?
I love using tackle boxes as goody holders; I’ve done them for teacher appreciation and birthday gifts. Pretty Perfect Party Ideas used them for treat containers for her candy buffet table. Â It is the perfect way to portion control…unless they fill every compartment with the same candy.

I hope I inspired you today to throw the coolest, hippest party on the block!
