Fiesta Friday – Oscar Fiestas
The 2011 Oscars are next weekend and I know some of you are having viewing parties! There are a few fabulous ideas out there that are fresh, and some classics from years past to share to get you inspired…

The Hostess Blog has a fabulous spread and free printables to share!
How about channeling classic movie glamour with the CPN West Coast movie themed table at Little Shindigs?
Last year I shared some great party ideas inspired by Pottery Barn’s movie watching party….
…and Twig & Thistle’s party has been graciously updated for this year!
Loving the great ideas over at Everyday Celebrating like these spray painted Barbie doll centerpieces and foam core clapboards.
Take a cue from the nominees for your menu and decor. Every year, Epicurious shares movie-inspired menus based on the Best Picture nominees; recipes include a proper English tea for The King’s Speech and meatball sliders and brownie cupcakes for Toy Story 3.
Don’t Bakerella’s statuette cookies look like so much fun? She shares a great step-by-step tutorial that makes almost feel inspired to try to make them. Almost.
How about The Decorated Cookie’s ‘popcorn’ cookies?
Decorate your tabletops with Twister and other classic toys (Toy Story 3), hang ballet slippers (Black Swan) and wrestling gloves (The Fighter) on the wall. Craft store giant Michael’s has Eiffel Tower crafts and decor right now, perfect for Inception.
Step up your party game and have your guests decorate your party by having an Oscar costume party; sure Woody and Buzz are givens (yes, they make grown-up versions), but give your guests some pointers to Western wear (True Grit), geek chic (The Social Network), suits and ties (Inception), hikers (127 Hours) and of course boxing shorts (The Fighter).
Food Network shares pretty and easy-to-make centerpieces and placesettings.
Come back on Sunday for inspired libations….

Popcorn made into cookies? Now that is creative! As are all these fun Oscar viewing party goodies. Thanks for sharing!
