First, it was Friendsgiving…and now the latest trend (at least I am making it one), a twist on a Thanksgiving twist, Brunchgiving! A Thanksgiving brunch is perfect for hosting a get-together with friends when dinner may not be the best option. After all, who says you have to do dinner? I am thrilled to be joining my friends again at Kaukauna® for more holiday fun.  This time around, I’m sharing great tips on hosting your own Brunchgiving from simple decor and settings to tasty and easy brunch ideas.

Tips To Hosting Brunchgiving with Kaukauna

This year, the Kaukauna® brand is turning 100 years old and everyone’s favorite cold-pack cheese products are still proudly created and produced in Wisconsin.  They are excited to launch an updated recipe for two varieties, Sharp Cheddar and Port Wine, – with no artificial anything – no artificial colors, preservatives or other ingredients. You won’t be able to taste the difference, because they would never mess around with the flavor that so many people love.  They are excited about this simplified recipe and expect to extend to the whole line in the future.

I couldn’t wait to incorporate both flavors of their spreadable cheese into my Brunchgiving menu…so let’s talk a few brunch ideas to get you inspired. We aren’t talking fancy linens, china and recipes filled with complicated ingredients. We are still not formal and certainly not as stressful as Thanksgiving. I decided to go in a more modern direction with a few nods to the season with color and seasonal bounty.

  • Wrapping paper as a table covering is one of my favorite ways to cover inexpensively.  It was easy to tie together with the coordinating grid napkins.
  • Head to the floral department for mini pumpkins, artichokes and eucalyptus branches for an easy centerpiece. The pumpkins and eucalyptus will last all season long and of course, cook up the artichokes for dinner.
  • Disposable tableware has come a long way since styrofoam and ugly plastic utensils.  A pretty set from your favorite party place makes clean up after brunch easy.
  • Copper mugs aren’t just for cold beverages; they keep hot drinks warm as well.  They are a good investment, now that you know you can use them year round.
  • I love using place cards but we don’t need a full name in swirls of fancy hand lettering on folded cards when a sticker on a white tag will do.
