BCA Wednesday – Gal To Gal Virtual Walk 2010

Gal To Gal Virtual WalkI’m a big fan of Design Her Gals, I have lots of their personalized stationery, and of course, my blog header is by them. Their Gal To Gal Foundation was started as a support system for women with Stage IV breast cancer. Many of the programs that most people are aware of are about breast cancer research, prevention, and treatment for earlier stages, but very few dollars are towards those needing support with dignity throughout the remainder of their battle.

If you are not familiar with the different stages of breast cancer, Stage IV is metastatic, meaning it has moved from the breast to other organs of the body, and at this point means it is often inoperable. In the past, at this point breast cancer has been considered incurable; the goal of treatment has been to provide relief from symptoms and prolong the duration and quality of life. However, there have been some important advances resulting in the addition of many more treatment options for managing this disease.

Take a virtual walk with friends and celebrities like Marg Helgenberger from CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, Larry King, Kristen Chenoweth and Molly Sims. Visit their sponsors for other great opportunities to help!
