A shameless promotion and Tuesday Tip – Happier Meals

We interrupt your normally scheduled post for a shameless promotion – I won a copy of Michael Mead’s latest book, Entertaining Simple courtesy of a giveaway at Tastefully Entertaining, thank you, thank you, thank you!

We had to give a tip or trick that makes entertaining more simple, and I responded “My entertaining trick is to have a signature cocktail/mocktail. Always have a fun drink to match your theme, even if it means giving a regular drink a new name and serve in a fun glass. In the past, we’ve had “Chocolatinis” at Christmas, apple-ginger sparklers garnished with cinnamon stick stirrers in martini glasses, and “Blue Lagoon” (blue punch) in clear tumblers with drink umbrellas.” And if you’ve ever been to any of my parties, you know it’s my favorite part. We now return you to your regularly scheduled post….

Where was Skip*Hop’s awesome dining sets when my kids were little? Their Mate (plate + mat) is a stay-put combo. And aren’t you loving their Palette Plate? It has a skid-resistant base keeps it in place during mealtime, and the three drop-in bowls that are microwave safe and have clear covers making storing leftovers a snap.

Bodum’s kid’s set comes in vibrant colors and other fun subjects like an alligator and a ghost.
