A New Year’s Eve Soirée for the Children
Ok, so maybe you can’t afford a bash for your adult friends, or the sitter’s double-during-the-holidays rate. How about ringing in the New Year with friends and their children, early enough for the kids to be tuckered out, and freeing the adults for parties of their own.
Cookie Magazine has a kick-ass party outlined in the Dec ’08/Jan ’09 issue. They recommend starting the party early and celebrate activities from around the world. Our children’s museum does the same, celebrating the different time zones as they come into the New Year.
Activity ideas included making party hats, building clocks, smashing a pinata, and at “midnight” (8:00 p.m.), donning their party hats and confetti galore.
