Score With A Super Bowl Snack Table
This year’s Super Bowl snuck up on me…I am still in denial that January is over! But who am I to miss an opportunity for a party? I’ve got a few snack table ideas to share and get you celebrating your favorite football team in no time!
Keep your food simple so you don’t have to feel tied to the kitchen or grill! Plus, you want foods that are easy to replenish but keep well sitting out on the table for a few hours.
Chicken wings are really easy to make; I just baked them plain, then coated half in wing sauce and kept the others to dip in a sriracha aioli sauce.
We always have lots of different types of beer at our parties but since Super Bowl game watching is so informal, invite guests to bring a growler or bottles of their favorite brew.
A big hit and must-have party snack is guacamole! I love to kick up store bought guacamole to save time on making it all by hand. I love to channel my inner Sandra Lee with her concept of “using 70 percent pre-packaged products and 30 percent fresh items”. Seriously, sometimes you just don’t need to work that hard.
Semi-Homemade Guacamole with Bacon
16 oz. mild guacamole
1/3 cup cooked, crumbled bacon (you don’t have to fry it yourself; find it ready to go in the salad dressing aisle of your grocery store!)
1/4 cup red onion, diced
1/4 cup tomato, diced and seeded
1 medium jalapeño , minced, add to taste
1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
- Mix all ingredients together and serve with your choice of pico or salsa and tortilla chips.
I find football themed party supplies from a variety of places and price points. I love to collect trophy-shaped serveware, they are perfect for sport themed affairs. The football glasses, plates and napkins are from Dollar Tree. The forks, table runner and wrapper under the chips are from a new discovery called Eat. Drink. Host.
Add some pom-poms from Oriental Trading for added flair and maybe to use during a touchdown or two.
Are you rooting for the New England Patriots or the Philadelphia Eagles? Have a little rivalry fun dressing up madeleines with team color sprinkles!
I used white and chocolate frosting, melted in the microwave until soft, then carefully spread over one end of the cookies. Pour sprinkles into shallow bowls and press frosted cookies into them.
No matter who wins the Super Bowl, have a great time and enjoy your afternoon!
