It’s day 3 of Halloweek! ย Today, I’m bringing you the first of two Halloween parties debuting this week. I am always excited for the chance to celebrate all things Avengers; remember ourย Easter Egg Huntย andย birthday party ideas?
Last time, we celebrated the opening of MARVEL’s Theย Avengers: Age of Ultronย with aย movie marathon sleepover partyย and this time around, we are celebrating its Blu-Ray/DVD release with a watch party, ย just in time for Halloween. ย Invite friends over for pre-trick-or-treating fun with dinner and a movie.
First up, head to Walmart for the best deals on exclusive MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron costumes; our Iron Man costume was only $15 and comes with a bonus clip-on shoulder badge and ID wallet.
Don’t forget to head over to the entertainment section and pick up your copy of the movie, plus everything else you need for a great party.
For our party table, this time around, I decided not to focus on the usual super hero primary colors and kept it to a black and white palette with pops of orange. It is classic Halloween but works perfect all year round, just swap out orange for your favorite Avenger’s color and it’s perfect for a birthday party.

Our backdrop is a classic cityscape that I cut out of black foam core. ย It makes a great decoration that can be reused for future parties.
The banner is a great way to shout out a few of the characters…for Black Widow, I painted spider cut outs white, made simple lightning bolt shapes from white cardstock for Thor, and various circle and star punches to create Captain America’s shield.
Chili is a great way to feed a crowd and perfect for keeping everyone warm while they are outside begging for candy. Set up your table with a big pot of chili and all the fixings, from shredded cheese to sour cream!
Since I couldn’t find patterned paper tubs I liked for serving the chili, I whipped out a marker and decorated white ones into a cityscape.
Instead of regular cornbread, how about baking some in a shaped pan? I have a great bone shaped pan that is perfect for Halloween!
Create a hot mead (hot cider and cocoa) bar that the god of thunder would appreciate. ย Set out hot water, mugs and lots of fun mixins like pumpkin chips, mini marshmallows and cinnamon sticks.
For a quiet moment, set up a craft area with cardboard shapes, felt and markers for a Make Your Own Super Hero station. ย Trust me, even big kids will want to do this…adult coloring is so in right now.
I hope you are inspired to host your own Halloween party that gets your guests in a super mood before heading out for trick or treating!
Be sure to check out all the fun MARVEL character costumes! I would love to hear about your MARVEL Halloween dress up plans!
