Backdrop frames are all the rage, and I was thrilled to find this wire frame on Amazon. It is four sections for easy storage and assembles with zip ties. I set the scene with a simple backdrop of tissue fans and honeycomb balls with a few faux flowers tucked in.
Another happy accident, this house banner at Paper Source. I did not see it during the holidays, it’s marketed as a seasonal kit and was forgotten on a store display. Since they had already packed things up and couldn’t get to a kit for purchase, they let me have the banner.

Wood birdhouses are always a craft win. There are so many ways clever ways to decorate them, I’ve turned them into gingerbread houses and welcome home party decor.
- Head to your favorite craft stores and pick up a few birdhouses and craft paint to create an easy centerpiece.
- Add landscape model trees and bushes for a realistic feel.

I can’t say it enough when it comes to tabletops, layers, layers, layers! Varied textures and colors add visual interest, from beaded placemats and cloth napkins to gold accents. Speaking of gold accents, I am obsessed with my new leopard print glasses from Mark & Graham; I’ve been waiting for them to go on sale. They pair perfectly with my Pier 1 leopard print plates, sadly, from years ago and are no longer available.
Instead of a veggie or charcuterie board, make individual servings in pretty glasses or cups.
- Dress up sliced veggies by cutting them with a crinkle cutter.
- Slice cheese into rectangles and cut them again on the diagonal.
- Add fruit like strawberries and grapes.
- Finish with a macaron; Trader Joe’s carries heart-shaped ones.
- Complete the place setting with a chocolate key on each plate.
