The best part? It won’t take as long as you think…

The Ultimate Wing Man - Awesome Father's Day party ideas start with chicken wings!

First, every party menu should start with the guest of honor’s favorite food…in our case, chicken wings! What I love is they are a. not just for game day b. can be easily customized and c. hold up well.  It is easy to place a quick order from your favorite wing spot and pick up a few dressings while you are at the grocery store.

Class things up from standard celery stalks with a fresh green salad and seasonal fruit.  Don’t forget to have lots of napkins and wet wipes on hand.

Don’t have time to bake a cake? Your favorite bakery will be more than able to create his favorite sweet.  If you are running even shorter on time, dress up a plain cake (in our case, cheesecake) with seasonal fruit or flowers.

Simple cookies and snacks combined with his favorite candies are always loved and appreciated! Don’t forget his beverages of choice.  It is not about all the work that goes into the prep, but the love.

Now that you have the menu, let’s talk about the decor.  Does he have a lot of amazing ties? Use them (carefully!) as decor.  I pulled several of my husband’s ties together to create our table’s color palette.  Topped off with an old briefcase (a thrift store score) and coordinating paper fans, it was easy to finish the look.  If you can’t find an old suitcase or briefcase to use as a stand, wrap a large, flat box in kraft paper.

If dad isn’t a tie wearer, head to your local craft store and substitute the the look with various sizes of ribbon or stripes of remnant material.  There is always a section of end-of-roll pieces for bargain prices. Don’t forget to trim the ends to resemble ties.
