It’s Halloweek! Batman-Inspired Halloween Party
This is a sponsored post; payment, trade and/or products have been received in exchange for promotion for Oriental Trading and as always, all opinions are my own.ย
It’s that time of year, our 4th annual week of Halloween fun, Halloweek! All this week, tune in to a new day of parties, crafts, recipes and more! ย Let’s kick things off with a Batman-Inspired Halloween Party.

This past February I was going to put together a movie-watching party for the release of The LEGO Batman Movie but my best-laid plans went sideways. ย So, I held onto all my goodies and with some help from Oriental Trading for a fewย Halloween party planning and decorating ideas, turned it into a Halloween party. ย You can still use it as a movie-watching party or just have it playing if your house is a pre-trick-or-treating stop.

To blend comic books and Halloween just takes a few props.
- Set the scene with a quick trip to a fabric store to purchase a solid material for a table cover.
- In an editing program, I created the cityscape backdrop and took it to Staples to make a print.
- You can never go wrong with mylar balloons and paper bats affixed to the walls with poster putty.
- I created stencils to trace the Batman symbol and date on spray-painted ceramic pumpkins.
- Smaller pumpkins were also spray-painted to coordinate and use as part of our centerpiece.
- Spider web placemats are a fun way to add texture and layers with bat wood shapes. I also used the shapes to create the garland on the front of the table.
Shop the Look: small ceramic pumpkins, striped mylar balloons,ย unfinished wood bat shapes, paper cups

Food is always the best part and we have lots of great ideas you can use at your own party!
- Renaming your food for appropriate Halloween spookiness is always a great call! ย Chicken wings become Bat Wings, black bean rotini is Witch’s Pasta, etc.
- Head to the bulk section of your grocery store for Halloween candy from gummi candy to candy corn. ย It is so more affordable there.
- Skewer apples and dip in melted chocolate; use a small frosting knife to smooth and scrap off excess candy, then drizzle with sprinkles.
- Even our drink bottles get in on the fun, wrapped in black card stock and wings.
- Did you know that there is a wonderful cookie line from Hostess called Bake Shop that makes baked nostalgia into cookies? I know, you realized the classic cupcakes looked like cookies and now you need them…
Shop the Look – sprinkles, wooden candy apple sticks, paper straws

I hope you are properly Halloween party inspired and ready for all the fun coming your way this week!
