We’ve Got Spirit, Yes We Do!

Invites
Write party info on card stock glued to the back of mini football pennants. Ask guests to bring their favorite six-pack and start your party about an hour before kickoff.
Decor
Show your colors! Pick streamers, balloons, paper plates and napkins in your team’s colors. If it’s a “mixed crowd,” consider decorating opposite sides of your TV room for each team. Otherwise, it’s your place, your team rules.
Get inspired with this tabletop from HWTM. They topped the table with green felt and used adhesive “Varsity” numbers and white ribbon. The players are courtesy of Kaskey Kids and you can find similar ones at Plum Party. You can also decorate with plastic bead necklaces, whistles and football clappers. Set out yellow “penalty flag” napkins folded into triangles.
Transform flats of wheatgrass into playing fields with miniature plastic football players and goal posts.
The munchies
Create a signature drink like ginger margaritas or The Kickoff – tequila, triple sec, O.J. and lime juice.
Don’t just slap down a bag of boring chips and dip. Set out hors d’oeuvres like home roasted pecans, tortilla chips with jalapeno-bean dip, salsa and guacamole and a tray of football novelty candies. These yummy goodies are courtesy of Dylan’s Candy Bar, and the picture is from InStyle Parties.
Grill purchased gourmet deli sandwiches, and create a buffet with chili with turkey and white beans, and a chopped vegetable salad.

The loot
Small door prizes for the lucky guest who picked the game’s MVP or the player with the most points scored, along with the unavoidable football pool will give your guests plenty of reasons to cheer.
