National Doughnut Day 2019 Instagram Party Hop
It’s National Doughnut Day! Because you all know I love doughnuts…I’ve brought some of my favorite and oh-so-talented party and lifestyle bloggers together for a Instagram Party Hop of crafts, recipes and parties!
What is an Instagram Party Hop you ask? Well, it’s like a blog hop, except we are all partying on Instagram! I sent a package of goodies in our color palette (Sunshine, Coral, Peacock, Night) from Paper Source to everyone and challenged them to come up with anything doughnut related.

Drumroll please…my contribution, Hamburger Doughnuts!
I was inspired by Aww Sam’s mini versions to create my own version using regular doughnuts. I used her doughnut recipe, but I doubled her baking time since I was using a regular sized doughnut pan.
She used yellow fondant for cheese but I went with green fondant for lettuce. I finished the look with red cookie icing for ketchup. I also used corn syrup to rub across the tops with white pareils for sesame seeds.
Even better than doughnut hamburgers, faux French fries! I sliced a thawed Sara Lee Pound Cake with a crinkle cutter. I laid the slices on a parchment lined baking sheet and broiled for 10-15 seconds on each side or until lightly browned. Be sure and turn on the oven light so you can watch them brown, they will pretty quick.
Add red frosting to a dip cup to complete the look!
I couldn’t resist dressing up our burgers with skewers, trays and paper liners, just like their real counterparts. Finishing things off with a fringe garland and we are ready to party for the summer!
