These DIY To-Go Kits Will Keep You Busy During Quarantine
This is a sponsored post; payment, trade and/or products have been received in exchange for promotion for AR Workshop® Mill Creek and as always, all opinions are my own.
Once upon a time, there was a party duo named Anders Ruff that noticed a need for DIY studios. Thus, AR Workshop® was born; a boutique DIY studio that offers hands-on classes for creating custom and charming home decor from raw materials.

Pre-quarantine, you could join an instructor-led workshop to make everything from customizable wood signs and canvas pillows, to centerpiece boxes, trays, chunky knit blankets (like mine!) and more!

As a result of our current crisis, they have created easy and fun DIY kits for all ages to enjoy at home with AR Workshop DIY To-Go Kits. Each kit contains all materials needed to create the project, including stencils, paint, brushes and instructions. Your kit is picked up at your local workshop’s doorstep or shipped directly to you.
Ronda from AR Workshop® Mill Creek sent me a 10 X 10 wood sign project kit to create these retro cocktail signs. I’m all about multi-purpose decor ideas that I can use for home and party decor.

These signs can be used to hang in your bar area, or used on the bar itself for your various drink bars. Whether it’s wine drinking or creating a DIY drink station, each sign is a clever way signal where the party is at.

See? Everything you need to get your craft on comes in your kit. The instructions were long but detailed, and you can head to their Facebook page for video instructions and even more tips.

I am not going to lie…this project was more involved than I realized. The key to clean lines with stencils is using a sponge and dabbing on several thin layers of paint. And as you can see, there are a lot of details to paint. But, the point is to keep one busy and it did! For nice, clean lines, rushing through was not going to happen. I had to be patient and take my time; I know, so hard for me to do. It was nice to slow down and really enjoy my painting.
Another fun part, mixing colors! Each kit comes with primary colors and a nifty color chart to custom mix any color to match any decor.
I sketched out my color layouts…I didn’t want to keep switching through the colors so I painted each color across all five boards at the same time.

The only thing I needed to add to my supplies was a tiny brush to paint over any bleeding. I had extremely minimal bleeding because the directions have great tips to creating clean lines. As a result, this is the best stencil painting I’ve ever done.

I love crafting kits; to pull together all the materials needed can be a struggle, especially now. AR Workshop DIY kits take all the guesswork out and leave the fun behind.
