Holiday 2020 is not going to be typical. Just like everything else in the world, the holiday buying season is different. Many Black Friday sales have either started or been announced, as businesses try to get ahead of the holiday rush.
All this week, I’ll be sharing my picks with my 2020 Christmas shopping gift guides! Firstly, it’s was all about supporting small businesses, and today, all about the countdown to the most wonderful day of the year. I’m talking about advent calendars! And not the cardboard ones with the tiny piece of chocolate behind each window.
From jerky to scrunchies, lets step into the world of some of my favorite advent calendars….

one. Because, candy! Each festive little drawer of Sugarfina’s 24 Tastes of Christmas Advent Calendar is filled with four pieces of each various candies from gummies to sea salt caramels |
two. Inspired by the fine art of Japanese papermaking, this gracious collection from Voluspa at Bloomingdales, brings together 12 delicate fragrances, each in an embossed glass holder.
three. Scratch off each day to reveal a unique QR code with a musical, interactive Holiday Favorites advent calendar from Uncommon Goods. In addition, the family will be jamming to everything from “Silent Night” to “Feliz Navidad”.
four. Celebrate the holiday season with something a little practical (and a lot more amazing) with this 12-bottle holiday advent calendar from Vintage Wine Estates on QVC. After all, who doesn’t love a gift that keeps on giving?
five. Keep everyone entertained with this fun advent calendar packed with puzzles and brainteasers from World Market. During the count down to the holidays, reveal a wooden or metal puzzle, or one of 18 riddles or word games.
six. Those digits will be merry and bright when you unlock another door of OPI’s mini nail lacquer advent calendar from Amazon.
seven. Thrill your LEGO enthusiast with the LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, featuring buildable characters, vehicles, and locations across the Stars Wars universe. In addition, it even comes with a foldout game map and a code to unlock Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga game content. Find it at Target.
eight. Also at Target; instead of opening a door or reaching in a pocket for a treat, this wood advent calendar scene lets you create your own exciting holiday tabletop display as you set out a new piece each day.
nine. Chewy’s canine calendar comes with a huge variety of toys, that will keep your dog playing throughout the whole holiday season and look great in your home. In other words, a great way to include your dog in an old-school holiday tradition you’ll both enjoy together.
ten. Another gorgeous design piece to display every year, Wayfair’s wood train has drawers on both sides of the boxcars.
eleven. Benefit’s Shake Your Beauty at HSN includes 12 bestselling mini beauty treats for a travel-size surprise every time! Open one present a day to reveal your tried-and-true beauty essentials and discover new faves.
twelve. Ah LUSH…you never steer me wrong with your products. Not only is this a dozen limited-edition holiday treats packed inside a festive reusable box, but also a pleasure to give and receive! I know, not an advent calendar, but I snuck it in any way.
thirteen. Your mantel or side table needs a light up advent calendar. World Market’s intricately detailed, dimensional advent calendar has 24 laser-cut wood drawers. Most important, battery-operated LED lights illuminate the starlit scene above.
I hope you have been inspired by my roundup of fabulous advent calendars. Need more gift guide inspiration? Check out my previous holiday guides and tune in next time for more Christmas shopping with this year’s gift guides.
